Position Summary
Position will be responsible for payroll, taxes, and benefits accounting including technical issues research and documentation, account reconciliation package compilation and review, and various special projects within the Financial Accounting group. Includes annual budget process and payroll forecasting responsibilities. Position will also assist with the preparation of various federal and state regulatory filings. Position will interact with the entire accounting group as well as operations, payroll, human resources, and executive management. There will be limited interaction with joint venture partners. Position will report to the Financial Accounting Manager.

Primary Responsibilities
Understand payroll processes and related accounting
Provide payroll and payroll-related information to operations and accounting personnel for the completion of the annual budget
Assist with forecasting payroll-related costs on an as needed basis
Ensure propriety of allocated costs including salaries, benefits and taxes
Liaise with Payroll/Human Resources Department(s)
Variance/flux analysis for monthly management meeting materials
Journal entry preparation
Technical issues research and other ad hoc research
Account reconciliation compilation, review, and tie-out
Special projects as needed for accounting or the HR/Payroll group
Process improvement evaluation and implementation
Support for financial reporting, tax and internal/external auditors
Education and Experience Requirements
Accounting degree
CPA preferred
Ability to balance work flow and complete assigned functions under time constraints
4+ years of accounting and/or public accounting experience
Familiarity with payroll processes and controls including benefits and payroll taxes is a plus
Midstream oil and gas experience a plus
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
Oracle R12 or later experience is a plus
