Summary:
The First Assistant is responsible for assisting the surgeon in performance of the surgical procedure.
Requirements:
A. Education/Skills
1. (RN only) Graduate of an accredited nursing program required, BSN preferred.
2. (RN/LPN only) Current LA nursing license.
B. Experience
3 years Operating Room Experience preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
1. Current Certified Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
2. Documented completion of an approved first assisting course required, certification (CRNFA, or CFA) preferred.
3. BLS completed, ACLS preferred.
